Birthday Card

Just a quick birthday card I made for my Father-in-Law.  I used scraps of My Mind's Eye Asparagus line (I think) as well as distress ink and some stamps I was recently given by a family member.  I'm really pleased with how this one came out.  I have to admit I saw the design on Pinterest.  (You can follow me here)  I just love Pinterest to organize ideas and projects.  I admittedly pin mostly recipes, but there are quite a few craft ideas also.

Trash the Dress

These are some old pages I've done.  They are from my trash the dress session back in May of 2009.  I used Basic Grey's Sultry line for the whole album.  I hope you enjoy these blasts from the past.

Change of Plan

This few weeks I've thought a lot about my blog and about if I wanted to continue blogging or if I wanted to just give up and let go of what happened to all my pictures (read the original story here).  I decided two things 1) I DO want to keep blogging, but 2) I don't want to go back and try to reload all my photos back on to the blog.  I just don't have enough time.  So I have a new plan.  I'm going to try to start blogging more new stuff along with going back through my older projects and reblogging some older stuff I've done.  Why not?

With that said I actually scrapbooked yesterday!  A friend came over for the evening and we had fun scrapbooking into the wee hours of the night.  OK...till almost 10 o'clock.  It was fun and really reminded me why I started to scrapbook and why I've always come back to it even if I take a break (long or short).  I managed to finish 4 pages last night.  Here's just one of them for now.  The other four are coming.  I've gotta spread the love out over as many posts as I can for the time being.  Anyway...I hope you enjoy it.

The photos are from Kirk's newborn photo session when he was just days old.  I sure do miss that snuggly little guy.  I used an old Basic Grey paper pack, Marakech, as well as plenty of ink, mists, and a Tim Holtz mask.

Something has gone very wrong

As you may notice none of my posts have photos in them anymore.  That's because I seem to have accidentally deleted them all.  I was cleaning out some unwanted photos from my phone to make more space and I found a folder that said "Blogger photos"  I assumed this was just a folder of copies of my blogger photos so I deleted the whole darn thing.  Imagine my surprise when I looked at my blog about a week later and all my photos from the past 4 years are gone.  I kind of want to cry right now.  What really makes me mad is that I don't even know why my phone had this folder.  I've never blogged from my phone and I've never taken photos for my blog from my phone.

I've looked and so far haven't been able to find a way to fix what I've done other than just re-uploading all of them one at a time which will take forever, but I've decided that this blog is important enough to me to at least try to get the photos back up.  It will probably take me a long time to do and I plan to start with the most recent posts and work back, but I'm going to try.  So sit tight and bear with me.

Long Overdue Birthday Party Post

Last month Kirk turned one.  I am still in denial.  I can't have a one year old!  I mean he was only born like 5 minutes ago so he can't possibly have already turned one.  This year has been one of the quickest of my life.  I'm pretty sure the last month of my pregnancy felt 10 times longer than this year did.  It has also been on of the most challenging and wonderful of my life also.  Anyway we celebrated Kirk's birthday with a big party and I had so much fun making decorations for his party.  We went with a mustache theme and had a lot of fun with it.  I used my new cricut a lot for all the mustaches.

Altered Canvas

A good friend of mine recently got engaged.  I wanted to make him and his new fiance a special gift for their engagement party.  This friend is a HUGE Elton John fanatic.  Your Song is one of his favorite songs also and I just love the quote "How wonderful life is now you're in the world." so I decided to use that line on a canvas.  I used Basic Grey's "Out of Print" line as well as, some Tim Holtz grungeboard, glimmer mists, and distress inks.

Happy Valentines Day!

I am normally not one to partake in Valentines Day festivities, but this year a group of friends decided to do a card exchange for Valentines Day.  It sounded like fun so I signed up to participate.  I had to make 4 cards and I thought that Bombshell Stamps are perfect for some fun Valentines Day cards.  I use cheesy pick up lines in as my theme to give the ladies a chuckle when they got them in the mail.  I hope you enjoy and have the Valentines Day you were hoping for.

For the cards I used the distress inks, copic markers, and Bombshell stamps Indian Warrior , Retro Cowgirls, and Bombshell Angel.
