9 Months

This week for sketch for Simple Sketches was a lot of fun to work with. I was very inspired by the grungy look of the sketch and it definitely played out on  my page.  I chose to scrapbook Kirk's 9 month photos that I took of him.  Even though I took almost the same photos every month for the first year of Kirk's life I think the 9 month photos are some of my favorite.  His little face is adorable and I just really like the way the photos turned out.  I used Tim Holtz paper and distress ink for this page.

Father & Son

This week for Simple Sketches I'm going a bit out of order.  The last sketch was due on a day that I was hosting Kirk's second birthday party (post here).  With all the decorations I made and the baking and cooking I did I just didn't have a lot of time to scrapbook so I traded weeks with one of the lovely ladies of team B.  This week's sketch was a lot of fun to work with and the page came together really easy.

One of the best parts of being a parent, for me, is watching my partner be a parent as well.  Seeing his love for our son has made me love him more.  Watching them play together has brought me endless joy.  I just used a bunch of random photos of the two of them together that I had printed out.  I thought they made a really cute page.  I used My Mind's Eye's Cut and Paste line for this page as well as Thickers and some ink.

Kirk's Second Birthday Party!

For Kirk's second birthday we decided to seize the opportunity of his last party with out his opinion for a theme and throw him a Star Trek birthday party.  It was a lot of fun and he really enjoyed himself.  Here are some photos of the party.

Fun in the Sun

This week's sketch from Simple Sketches was another that I was a bit apprehensive about.  I liked the sketch.  I like sun bursts on pages, but I always have a hard time doing them on my pages.  I'm glad this pushed me out of my comfort zone because I'm very happy with the page.  I used My Mind's Eye's Cut and Paste Line for this page.  I also used Thickers, Glimmer Mist, and Distress Ink.  I hope you enjoy it.  Stop over at Simple Sketches and share your page too!

Holidays 2012

This week's Simple Sketches sketch really pushed me out of my comfort zone.  To be honest I wasn't the biggest fan of the sketch when I first saw it.  It just wasn't really my style, but then I made this page and I absolutely love how it turned out as well as all the other design team pages that used this sketch.  Just some more proof that I need to break out of my comfort zone more often.  These are photos I took last year of Kirk for our Holiday cards.  I love how the photos turned out and can't believe how much Kirk has grown in one year.  I used the Graphic 45 12 days of Christmas line, Black Soot Distress Ink, Smooch Spritz and white Maya Mist for this page.  The alphas are Thickers with crystal Stickles over them.
