Bombshell Blog Hop

December's Bombshell blog hop was postponed a  bit, but better late than never in my book!  I made an ornament as a gift for a friend using the Peek-a-boo geisha digital stamps.  My friend is a Japanese teacher and really likes Geisha's so I thought this would be the perfect gift for her.

Hump Day Blog Hop

I'm late in the day with this, but I am part of the Bombshell Stamps, Hump Day Blog Hop this month.  The challenge this month was a recipe challenge.  You are supposed to use:
3 Patterned Papers
2 Bombshell Stamps
1 Piece of Ribbon

To participate in the blog hop, start at the  Bombshell Stamps blog and make your way through the list in order.

I used the Western Gal stamp set for this card.   I used Basic Gery paper and colored the image with Copic markers.  I hope you enjoy and Happy Hump Day!

Thank you card

I just wanted to drop by and share a quick thank you card I made recently.  I mainly just used lots of scraps for the card.  I also wanted to explain that I will probably be fairly absent for the next few months.  We are currently in the process of trying to sell our home and find a new one so things are hectic and my scrapbooking supplies may be mostly packed away for awhile.

Quick way to jazz up a gift

I just wanted to share a quick way to jazz up a gift.  I put a band of paper around a jewelry box and then added an accordion flower and a button to complete the look.  Quick, simple and cute.  I used Basic Grey's Piccadilly line for this.

Altered Canvas for a nursery

A friend was looking for some nursery decoration and asked for advice.  I offered up the suggestion of an altered canvas and offered to make one for her.  She is also Jewish and like the idea of using the prayer,  Sh'ma Yisrael, that I used on this previous canvas since her son will eventually need to learn Hebrew.  She didn't really have a theme for the nursery, but was using orange, blue and grey as the colors.  I thought Basic Grey's Picadilly line fit perfectly.  I also used a healthy portion of Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist, and Pewter Zing Embossing Powder.

One day I will actually make something for myself.

Just wanted to share a few more gift pages with you.  I have two more items that I need to make for other people and then I fully plan to actually get to scrapbooking photos of my adorable little man.  It is shameful that he is 6 months old and I've only scrapbooked 1 photo of him.  Here's a quick photo of him before the gift layouts.

For this layout I used the Basic Grey Wisteria line.

This one I used another Basic Gray line, but for the life of me right now I can't think of it and I am too lazy to go look at the moment.

For both of these I used old Page Maps Sketches for inspiration.  Thanks for stopping by today!  I hope you enjoyed what you saw here.

Stationary

As I said in my last post I have been working on making gifts for some friends lately.  For a friend I decided to make her a set of personalized Stationary cards.  I really like how they turned out and I am thinking of making some for myself.

Gift pages

Lately I have been caught up working on some gifts for friends on mine.  One of the gifts I made is a bunch of pre-made scrapbook pages that she can just add her own photos too.  Like me, she also had a baby boy recently so I made some boy pages.  I used Doodle Bug Designs Boys Only line.  I really love the line and think I may need to get some more so I can use it to scrapbook some of Kirk's photos.   I also used a lot of Vintage Photo Tim Holtz distress ink and Tattered Leather Glimmer Mist.

Fail

June totally got away from me.  I signed up for the June Bombshell Stamps blog hop and I just realized that today is the day, but I didn't make a project.  I suck.  Here is the blog roll to keep you going on the blog hop.

Save the Rhino!

For Bombshell Stamps May Blog Hop we were supposed to create a project with one of the many holidays in May.  You could use any holiday no matter how main stream or how strange.  While looking at the list of holidays I decided to go with the more obscure and chose Save the Rhino Day.  In case you are wondering for future celebrations Save the Rhino Day falls annually on May 1st.  I chose Save the Rhino Day because the Rhino is part  of an inside joke as well as the unofficial mascot for a group of my friends.  When I saw it on the list I just couldn't pass up the opportunity.

Here is the blog hop line up:

Make sure you start at the bombshell stamps blog and work in order.  You should have made it here through Susie's blog and your next stop should be Jodi's blog

For this card I used Basic Gray's Out of Print Line along with Copic Markers, Stickles, Tim Holtz Distress in and Bombshell Stamps' Geisha digital stamp.  The rhino is just some clip art that I found online.

Altered Letter Block Tray

I have a friend that has been going through some medical treatment lately.  She has, understandably, been a little blue during this time so I wanted to make her a gift to help brighten her spirits.  I decided to make alter a 7 Gypsies Letter Block Tray for her so she could add photos of her son to it.  He is the light of her life and always brings a smile to her face so I figured being able to look at his adorable little face would help her brighten any day.  I used October Afternoon's Rocket Age line for this as well as a healthy dose of Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress ink.  I am pretty pleased with the result.

Happy Mother's Day

First, I want to wish all the mothers and grandmothers out there a very Happy Mother's Day!  It is my first Mother's Day and I must say that being a Mother is one of the hardest and amazing things I have ever done.  It has given me a new appreciation for my mother and every other mother out there.  You are all rockstars.  I never knew I could love a person so wholly.  I hope you all have a wonderful day.

Second I wanted to share a few cards I made.  Two are Mother's Day cards and one is a Birthday card for my dad.  I used scraps for all three of these.  Admittedly cards are not my strength.  They turn out OK, but I think my layouts and other projects are usually much stronger than my cards.  I guess I just feel too constrained by the size.  Especially since I only have envelopes big enough for 5x3 1/2 inch cards right now.  So here they are.

Sweet Cheeks

I finally ordered some photos of Kirk and I was actually able to scrapbook a photo of him for the first time.  It's about damn time I would say.  I started with this photo because it is my absolute favorite photo of him when he was a newborn.  I just love his chubby little cheeks and sweet face.  I am entering this into the challenges for Frosted Designs and Practical Scrappers this week.  I used a February 2012  Page Maps sketch for inspiration for this page.

More Maternity Pages

Well I got to scrapbook again today and it was great.  My sister came to watch Kirk and attempt to get the little guy to take a bottle (unfortunately she was unsuccessful) so I cleared out and went to Archivers to scrapbook.  I am having so much fun scrapbooking my maternity photos right now.  I can't wait to get some of Kirk's newborn photos to arrive so I can get started on them.  I am using Bo Bunny's Enchanted line for all the maternity pages I do.  I really wanted to stick with black, white and blue because I think it really compliments the photos well.

Sheepishly returning to blogging

It has been way too long since I blogged.  I have no real good excuse other than I haven't been scrapping because I have been busy caring for my son.  Who knew infants were such hard work? ;)  It has been wonderful and difficult and more incredible than I could ever imagine.  Just to show off quickly here is a photo of him.
Isn't he just amazing?  That is his two month photo.  To show how much he has grown here is a photo of him just a few days after birth.

Alright.  Now on to scrapping.  This is the first page I have been able to scrap since Kirk was born.  I am really pleased with it.  It is one of my maternity photos.
I hope to start scrapping and posting again more regularly.  I sure have missed it.
